For those following Dr Hufford's blog, I am posting a sad update. Steve regained his strength and enjoyed every moment. His practice grew in 2011-2012 and he was chosen to be Chief of Oncology at California Pacific Medical Center in 2012. He enjoyed many adventures with his family to Disneyland, Yosemite, Hawaii, Washington DC, Big Sur, Vienna and Salzburg, Southern California, France, London and Berlin following his surgery. He achieved several milestones including attending the middle school father-daughter dance with Kendall in 2011 and 2012 and celebrating Kendall's graduation from eighth grade. He did not achieve his next milestone, which was to celebrate Justine's graduation from UCSD in 2013. Unexpectedly, Steve passed away on Nov 6, 2012. However, in the two years following his surgery, Steve LIVED. He enjoyed every beautiful day, found a new passion (golf), enjoyed living in San Francisco and being with his family and friends.
